Normally the pain and stiffness come down within a week; the patients will get relief day by day. Duration of the treatment depends on the severity, how long the patient is suffering from, the parts which are affected etc… If it has affected only spine, it may take comparatively less time than a patient affected both on the spine and hip region.  If you can’t sit, stand, lay down and walk properly, it may take comparatively more time. Our treatment includes  Panchakarma techniques like Abhyangam (massage) with specially prepared Ayurvedic oil, Elakizhi, Njavarakizhi, Snehanam, Swedanam (medicated steam bath),Vamanam, Virechanam etc…and we apply specially prepared herbal paste (lepam) externally on the affected areas and give internal medication (prepared out of rare herbal combinations)  according to the patient’s medical condition.

Even if a patient is not responding to painkillers, our treatment will be highly effective. In such cases, the patient will get at least 80% relief. Our treatment is highly effective in a patient who was under other medications (steroids) for a long time and having its side effects. Normally, Ankylosing spondylitis patients may have problems like high blood pressure, high pulse rate, gastric problems, acidity etc…  We will treat and cure such diseases as well, in such cases it will take comparatively more time.   We will remove stiffness, bulging, swelling etc… and the patient regains flexibility and mobility.  You can have a normal life after completing the treatment.  You have to continue the medications for one year, rare cases it may take some more time.

We are using pure siddha and Ayurvedic medicines for the treatment of Ankylosing spondylitis, which are free from side effects, at the same time our treatment helps you to remove the side effects of medicines that you have taken earlier.  You may be aware of the side effects of steroids. What is Ankylosing Spondylitis?

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a type of inflammatory arthritis that primarily affects the spine, sacroiliac joints and pelvis. In A.S, the joints and ligaments along the spine become inflamed. The inflammation produces pain and stiffness that usually begins in the lower back or buttocks, and may progress into the upper spine, chest and neck. Over time, the joints and bones (vertebrae) may grow together (fuse), causing the spine to become rigid and inflexible. Other joints, such as the hips, shoulders and knees may also be affected. AS is a systemic disease, which means it may affect other organs. The cause of ankylosing spondylitis is unknown, but genes and heredity play an important role. The tendency to develop Ankylosing spondylitis is believed to be genetically inherited, and a majority (nearly 90%) of people with Ankylosing spondylitis are born with a gene known as the HLA-B27 gene.  Some evidence suggests that AS may be triggered by an infection.

The signs and symptoms of Ankylosing spondylitis often appear gradually, with peak onset being between 20 and 30 years of age. The initial symptoms are usually a chronic dull pain in the lower back or gluteal region combined with stiffness of the lower back. Individuals often experience pain and stiffness that awakens them in the early morning hours. As the disease progresses, loss of spinal mobility and chest expansion, with limitation of anterior flexion, lateral flexion, and extension of the lumbar spine, is seen. Systemic features are common, with weight loss, fever, or fatigue often present. Pain is often severe at rest, but improves with physical activity. However, many experience inflammation and pain to varying degrees regardless of rest and movement. A.S can occur in any part of the spine or the entire spine, often with pain referred to one or the other buttock or the back of the thigh from the sacroiliac joint. Arthritis may occur in the hips and shoulders also. When the condition presents before the age of 18, it is relatively likely to cause pain and swelling of large limb joints, particularly the knee. In prepubescent cases, pain and swelling may also manifest in the ankles and feet, where heel spurs may also develop.
